The results of the 2007 IAM Newsletter & Website Competition are in and leading the pack are District 751, NFFE Federal District 1, Local 1781 and Local 698.

District 751 and Local 1781 won in the category of General Excellence for their newsletters, Aero Mechanic and Trade Winds, respectively, and taking top website honors are NFFE Federal District 1,
www.nffe.org, and Local 698, www.iamlocal698.com

“Congratulations to those locals and districts who won,” said Communications Director Rick Sloan. “IAM lodges are on the cutting edge of getting labor’s message out, and they’re getting it out with style and sophistication. We truly appreciate all who undertake this responsibility.”

Walter L. Boyd Retires from Edward C. Levy

Sheldon Crummey (Levy Union Steward), Walter and Dennis Papineau (LL 698 Trustee)

Congratulations to Walter on his Retirement from Edward C. Levy Company. Local Lodge 698 and the IAMAW would like to recognize Walter for his 29 and 1/2 years of service to Levy and wish him the best of years in his much deserved Retirement.

A luncheon was given for Walter on Monday the 17th by Levy. In attendance to present to him with a certificate of Honor and Distinction from Local Lodge 698 - District 60 was Business Representative Mark Ward. In appreciation for his years of service he was also presented with an IAM Watch from Local Lodge 698.

More Organizing Wins for Local Lodge 698!

Congratulationsto the employees of Star Truck Rental for voting to join the IAM on January 10th, 2008. This win was headed up by Organizer Beau Jencks.
